Norma Bloemker, age 102, formerly of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 12:00 PM – Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Grove Rehab in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM – Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Zack Trimble officiating. The burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery south of Dieterich, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. Norma was born on September 9, 1921, in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Tillie (Luerssen) Frailey. She attended school in Dieterich and graduated her junior year in 1938, and then graduated from Effingham High School her senior year with the Class of 1939. Norma was united in marriage to Vic Bloemker on December 13, 1941, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1977. Norma was all about Dieterich all her life. She was an election clerk for Effingham County for many years. She worked at Meyer’s Grocery Store and the First National Bank of Dieterich, where she was known for delicious desserts that were featured in the bank cookbook “The Melting Pot”. Norma was a member of the Dieterich Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, traveling, and taking walks. Norma moved to Jacksonville, Illinois, in December 2017, to be near her family.

Norma is survived by: Daughter – Karen (Ken) Zumbahlen of Jacksonville, Illinois Grandsons – Doug (Debbie) Zumbahlen and Darrin Zumbahlen Great Grandchildren – Dallas (Chelsea) Zumbahlen, Dakota (Brittany) Zumbahlen, and Dayna (Eddie) Zumbahlen-Souza Great-great Grandson – Dalton Zumbahlen and a Great-great Granddaughter due anytime.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
