Rhonda Denise (Wilhoit) Aanes (71) formerly of Effingham

Rhonda Denise (Wilhoit) Aanes, 71, formerly of Effingham, IL passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Carle Auxiliary Guest House. Rhonda was born on April 2, 1953 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Rex and Retha (Mauk) Wilhoit. She married Robin Aanes on May 1, 1980 in Effingham, IL, and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2018. Rhonda was an avid collector of antiques and was in the business of buying and selling for over 30 years. She had a passion for flea markets, auctions and garage sales. In her spare time she enjoyed landscaping and spending time with family.

Rhonda is survived by her daughters, Alisha (Matt) Willenborg of Nixa, MO and Andrea Aanes of Effingham, IL; step-daughter, Kristina Dickerson of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Logan and Landon Willenborg; step-grandchildren, Ray and Alexis Dickerson; brothers, Alan Wilhoit of Casey, IL and Roger (Becky) Wilhoit of Martinsville, IL; sister, Rosalyn (David) Starwalt of Martinsville, IL and Rebecca (John) Schiver of Martinsville, IL; and many nephews and nieces whom she dearly loved.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Rex and Retha (Mauk) Wilhoit; and husband, Robin Aanes.
