Barbara E. Green (88) of Trilla

Barbara E. Green, 88, of Trilla, Illinois passed away at 6:38 PM Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the Carle Foundation Hospital of Urbana, Illinois.

She was born January 20, 1936 in Neoga, Illinois the daughter of Nathan and Olive (Ferris) Stewart. Barbara married Lawrence E. "Bud" Green September 2, 1956 at the First Christian Church of Neoga, Illinois. They were married for 59 years when Mr. Green passed away on June 4, 2016. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Masters Degree and taught PE/Health for the Mattoon Community School District for over 35 years. She was a faithful member of the Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church In Trilla, Illinois where she taught Sunday School. Barbara was also a fifty plus year member of the Order Of The Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Jim Green (Angie) of Trilla, Illinois; daughters, Deb Berkheimer (Barry Conn) of Trilla, Illinois and Kristi Peterson (Eric) of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Josh Green (Heather) of Sullivan, Illinois, Jessica Sergeev of Carbondale, Illinois, Ryan Berkheimer (Cortney) of Mattoon, Illinois, Jamie Thompson (Justin Young) of Trilla, Illinois, Brent Berkheimer (Ashley) of Mattoon, Illinois, Caleb Peterson (Susan) of Greeley Colorado, Daniel Peterson of Louisville Kentucky, Rachel Peterson of Louisville, Kentucky and Staci Berkheimer of Trilla, Illinois; great grandchildren, Logan, Carter, Hailey, Lily, Shelby, Talyn, Chayse, Mackenzie, Parker and Ivan; sister in laws, Ann Stewart of Plainfield, Indiana and Janet Tinch of Trilla, Illinois and many other loved ones.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence & "Bud" Green; sister, Shirley (John) Flood; brother, Don Stewart; daughter in law, Jackie Streeper-Green; son in law, Tim Berkheimer; grandson in law, Ivan Sergeev.

Barb was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Memorials are suggested to the Beals Cemetery of Trilla, Illinois or Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Trilla, Illinois.

Visitation will be Wednesday June 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois and from 10:00AM until service time at the Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Trilla, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday June 27, 2024 in the Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Trilla, Illinois. Burial will be in the Beals Cemetery in Trilla, Illinois.
