Caide Makoi Weidner, 12, of rural Louisville passed away at 4:02 pm Sunday, June 16, 2024, at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, with his loving family by his side.

He was born January 12, 2012, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Nicholas Weidner and Dena Rinehart. Caide loved to farm and operate equipment, hunt and fish, play video games, go boating, and make people smile. He was the sweetest and caring child imaginable always there for a hug and word of inspiration such as “Have a Great Rest of Your Day!” To know Caide was to know a truly kind soul that could light up a room and will forever be remembered. He was going to be in the 7th grade at North Clay Elementary this fall.

He is survived by his parents; brother: Kirk Weidner of Louisville; grandparents: Myron and Rhonda Weidner of Louisville; Hughlene Rinehart of Louisville; Uncles and Aunts: Ryan and Joie Schuetz of St Louis; Cole and Maggie Weidner of Clay City; Robert Rinehart of Louisville; Tim and Cara Rinehart of Louisville; Chris and Gina Rinehart of Louisville; Toby and Kristen Rinehart of Flora; and many cousins and friends.

He was met at heaven’s gates by his grandpa: Albert Lowell Rinehart; and cousin: Bryce Andrew Rinehart.

Funeral services to celebrate Caide’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Red Brush Christian Church, Louisville with Ben Farleigh officiating. Burial will follow at Hoosier Prairie Cemetery, rural Louisville. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the church where friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and then on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Caide’s memory to the North Clay FFA Chapter. The McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville is honored to be entrusted with the families care and arrangements.
