Patsy Jean Wilson (83) of Effingham

Patsy Jean Wilson, 83, of Effingham, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 prior to the service at the funeral home. Patsy was born on August 24, 1940, in Jewett, IL, the daughter of Levi and Dorothy (Plummer) Brewer. She married Larry Wilson on September 16, 1962, and he survives. Patsy was employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation for 33 years. She retired in 2000. She had a love of bowling with her sister, nieces, and friends. Many trips to national bowling tournaments all over the country kept her excitement for the game. St. Louis Blues and the St. Louis Cardinals were a couple of the favorite sports teams that she enjoyed watching. Patsy loved to embroider, craft, knit, crochet, and cross stitch. Many unique projects and Christmas ornaments were created with love for relatives and friends.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Larry Wilson of Effingham; son, Michael (Anne) Wilson of Effingham; daughter, Julie (Scott) Miller of Clinton; grandchildren, Kylie (Kyle) Reynolds and Abigail Miller, Zachary, Morgan, and Jessica Wilson; great-grandchild, Eloise Reynolds; sister, Carolyn Brown of Effingham; and brother, John “Buck” Brewer of Toledo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Brewer; brother-in-law, Lynn Brown; sister-in-law, Linda Brewer.

Patsy’s family would like to thank the staff of HSHS Hospice, Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, and SPS for their loving care of Patsy these last few months.
