Loretta Mae Brown, 85, of Greenup, IL passed away at 5:49 pm on May 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:30 am on Thursday June 6, 2024, at Bell Cemetery rural Greenup, IL. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL is assisting the family.
Loretta Mae was born on October 18, 1938, in Greenup, IL to Jesse Cleo & Lida (Black) Tipsword. She married Walter F. “Brownie” Brown Jr. on November 5, 1955, and he preceded her on May 28, 2016.
Survivors include her daughters Karen (David) Yocom, Shirley Brown, and Pamela (Carey) Brandenburg; son Steve (Zhonna) Brown; brothers Dickie (Sandy) Tipsword and William Tipsword; sisters Bonnie Maxine Tiffin and Barbara Ellen Hanley; grandchildren Matthew Brown, Jered Brown, Jordan Hennings, Heather Brown (Michael Sanger), Lee Derek Brandenburg and Zachary Brandenburg (Laurel Light); she also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Gary and Randy Brown; brother Richard Tipsword; three sisters Clara Walters, Betty Shields, and Patty Simpson.
Loretta Mae had worked at Ettelbrick Shoe Company, Kerns Manufacturing in Neoga and was a waitress at the Salad Bowl in Greenup for many years. Memorials can be made to St. Jude. Online condolences can be expressed by clicking here.
