Clyde was born on February 4, 1946 in Salem, Illinois, the son of Clyde H. and Edna Faye (Pownall) Nevergall. Clyde served in the United States Army. He worked at LaClede Steel as the credit manager for several years. He was an avid Cardinal fan and loved gardening. Clyde was a devoted, loving father and papa. He enjoyed traveling/ browsing for new seafood restaurants; crab legs were his love language, and he was quite the connoisseur when it came to them. He was one of a kind, ornery, down to earth, and just a great man in general. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Adam Nevergall (wife Sara) of Brownstown and Wade Nevergall (wife Katie) of Vandalia; daughters, Andrea Stinde of Salem and Kayla Bartels (husband Josh) of St. Elmo; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Edna Nevergall; son in law, Kermit Stinde, and one brother in infancy.
