Sandra Jean Sickles (70) of St. Elmo

Sandra Jean Sickles, age 70, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Elmo, Illinois with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Pee Wee Denton will be officiating. Sandy was born on June 29, 1953 in Vandalia, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil and Goldie (Force) Harris. Raised by Todd & Goldie Harris. She was with Leroy Gottman during her teenage years before she married Thomas Sickles on December 17, 1982. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved going to rodeos, collecting Coca Cola products, listening to country music, and checking out different coffee shops in the area.

She is survived by her daughters, Heidi Cole (husband Mike) of St. Elmo, Connie Piper (husband Eddie) of Ohio, Terry McAfee of Ohio, Margee Ordway of Ohio, and Billie Becker of Ohio; son, Tom Sickles (wife Micha) of Arizona; sisters, Trudy Reichert of Farina and Loretta “Letty” Cameron of St. Elmo; 19 grandchildren and several great and great great- grandchildren plus her grand dog boxer, Waylon Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Goldie Harris; uncle, Todd Harris; husband, T. J. Sickles; son, John Sickles; sister, Sallie Trier; Heidi’s biological father, Leroy Gottman.
