Ray M. Phillips (89) of St. Peters, MO

Ray M. Phillips, 89, of St. Peters, Missouri, died at 7:18 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, St. Peters, Missouri with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service time. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Little Prairie Baptist Church Cemetery (Jackson Township), rural Altamont, IL with Kevin Knierim officiating. Memorials may be made to the cemetery.

Ray Melburn Phillips was born on Tuesday, August 21, 1934 in Altamont to Forrest ‘Jack’ and Cleta Belle (Robertson) Phillips. Following graduation, he married Jeanette W. Bryant on December 28, 1952 in Dieterich, IL. He proudly served in U.S. Navy and then worked for McDonnell Douglas as an F-18 Hornet production manager. After retirement he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, researching genealogy, following St. Louis Cardinals baseball and piloting airplanes.

He is survived by: his wife of over 71 years, Jeanette of St. Peters, MO; son, Dennis Dale (Enola) Phillips of St. Peters; daughters, Deborah (Jack) Theros of St. Charles, MO, Brenda (Dr. Kevin) Bucol of St. Louis, MO, and Teresa (Bob) McWilliams of Perry, MO; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one grandchild.
