Rodger Niccum, age 78, of Toledo, IL. passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery.

Rodger was born on October 19, 1945 in Jewett, IL to Richard and Lucille (Cox) Niccum. He married Judy Wilson on January 17, 1992 in Henderson, KY.

Surviving is his loving wife Judy; daughters April Leanne (Kirk) James and Dana Gay (Arlin) Ruholl. He is also survived by Judy’s children; Kathy (George) Wolf, Susie Swearingen, Eric (Pam) Wilson, Troy (Rhonda) Wilson, and Scott (Tory) Wilson; grandchildren Lacey Thoele, Dillon Ruholl, Roudy Ruholl, Maverick Ruholl, Shae Zumbahlen, and Morgan James; nine great-grandchildren; also survived by several of Judy’s grandkids and great-grandkids; brother Bill (Shirley) Niccum; sisters Madonna Ervin and Norma (Don) Griffith.

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Max (Linda) Niccum; and brother-in-law Johnny Ervin.

Rodger worked and retired after 35 years at Blaw-Knox in Mattoon. In Rodger’s spare time he enjoyed working outside and keeping a meticulous lawn. He was a master wood worker, building cabinetry and furniture for many over the years. He loved to travel with Judy, taking many trips with a camper to Texas.
