Kent W. Weber, 81, of Teutopolis, IL passed away on May 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. There will be a brief visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Kent was born on July 10, 1942, in Effingham, IL, the son of William “Bill” and Ursula (Althoff) Weber. He married Carla Rollhaus on July 21, 1973 in St Louis, MO and she survives.

Kent and Carla are the parents of five children: Christy Baker (Justin Scherer) of Effingham, Carrie (Ken) Repking of Dieterich, Kathy (Steve) Gibson of Effingham, Kim (Dr. Eric) Bloemer of Dieterich, and Michael (Meghan) Weber of Effingham. They have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Derek (Kori) Heuerman and their child Witt all of Effingham, Christopher (Saidee) Heuerman of Troy, Mitchell Heuerman (Alli Brumleve) of Effingham; Morgan, Kyle, Bailey Repking all of Dieterich; Courtney Gibson (Cody Bergbower) and Cole Gibson both of Teutopolis; Kiley, Aiden, Reed and Landon Bloemer all of Dieterich, Landon Lynch and Dylan Weber both of Dieterich; and brother-in-law, Joe Adams of Effingham.

Kent graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1960 and from St. Louis University in 1964 as a radiology technologist. He worked at St. Mary's Hospital in St Louis until 1973 and then moved to Effingham where he began working at St. Anthony's Hospital as a Radiology manager until 1999. He was also a professor at St. Louis University and Kaskaskia College. Kent loved his family and especially all his grandchildren. He loved spending time outdoors, going on bike rides, giving tractor rides, walks in the woods and to the creek, teaching the grandkids about every tree, flower, and bird, and driving lessons in the old red IH (International) truck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kay Adams; mother-in-law and father-in-law; and several aunts and uncles.
