David E. Shuemaker (65) of Neoga

David E. Shuemaker, 65, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024.

He was born April 9, 1959 in Effingham, Illinois the son of George E. and Elizabeth N. (Flack) Shuemaker. David was a Grain Farmer, former Iron Worker and a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau. He married Jodi Young December 30, 1995 in Neoga, Illinois. David was a Nascar fan and enjoyed, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Shuemaker is survived by his wife, Jodi Shuemaker of Neoga, Illinois; children, Matt Shuemaker of St. Petersburg, Florida, Jerry Shuemaker (Jill) of Windsor, Illinois, Emma Shuemaker and Sam Shuemaker both of Neoga, Illinois; grandchildren, Alivia and Eli Shuemaker both of Neoga, Illinois and Caidence, Laurelynn and Addison Shuemaker all of Windsor, Illinois; parents in law, Tom and Joyce Young of Neoga, Illinois; brothers, Tom Shuemaker (Julie) Toledo, Illinois, Gary Shuemaker of Neoga, Illinois and Bill Shuemaker of Windsor, Illinois; sister, Patty Baldwin of Neoga, Illinois; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and special canine companions, Ralph and Spec.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steven Shuemaker and sister, Linda Turner.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 17, 2024 at the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. also at the funeral home.
