Nora "Pauline" Byrum, 94, of Altamont, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL.

Pauline was born on October 22, 1929 in Jackson Township, Effingham, IL, the daughter of Merle and Nora Watson. She married Jack Byrum in May of 1948 in Effingham, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2009. Pauline retired from the Norge/Fedders Corporation after working there for decades. She loved feeding hummingbirds, gambling on the riverboats and playing bingo in her later years. She was a hard-workingwoman and an excellent cook.

Pauline is survived by her son, Clifford E. (Diane) Byrum of Oswego, IL; daughters, Judith Mass of Wonder Lake, IL and Rebecca (Tim) McDevitt of Pacific, MO; grandchildren, Marc Mixell, Brandy Wenrich, Jason Justen, Tricia Farrell and Tracie Hoffman; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosie Barosko.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; brother, Darrell; sisters, Lila, June, and Juanita; and son-in-law, Mark Mass.
