James Lester “Leslie” Dillow, 67, of Arthur, IL., passed away at 12:52 pm on April 29, 2024, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday May 2, 2024, in the Toledo Cemetery with Military Rites by the Cumberland County Veterans. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Leslie was born on December 21, 1956, in Clinton, IL., to Harold Madison and Aleta Jean (Cunningham) Dillow. He married Tammy Lynn on October 15, 1988, in Mattoon, IL. Survivors include his loving wife, Tammy; child Chase Madison; brothers Chris Dillow, Harold Dillow, Terry Dillow, and Mark Dillow. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Leslie served 23 years in the United States Air Force. He spent many years in higher education receiving degrees in Business Management along with a Masters and Doctorate. Leslie went on to work for the Sullivan School District as the Assistant Principle, and then as the Athletic Director for the Arthur School District. He also worked for the Department of Human Services in Decatur.
