Robert E. Bone, 68, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Robert was born on September 13, 1955, in Chicago, IL, the son of Leonard and Lillian (Cobern) Bone. He married Kathleen Garrity on January 4, 2003 in Chicago, IL. Robert enjoyed fishing, family gatherings, and taking his dogs Marley, Wee-Z, and Daisy outside. He loved spending time with his grandkids and will be fondly remembered as Grumpy Grandpa by some of them. He also loved gambling of any kind and horse racing.
Robert is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bone; children, Ronnieanne Edwards-Guilianelli (Robert), Lenny Bone, Scottie Bone (Alishia Brown), Robert Edward Bone Jr., Ross W. Doran (Holly Wesley), and Melinda Martinez-Epperson; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Robert David Edwards and Christopher Roy Bone; and brothers, Lenny Bone, Alfred Bone, Harold Bone, and Wayne Bone.
