Judith K. "Judy" Wente (70) of Rockford

Judith “Judy” K. Wente, 70, Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Javon Bea Hospital.
She was born January 28, 1954, in Joliet, IL the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Manno) Sheridan. She married Thomas Wente in Joliet on August 13, 1978. Judy was most recently employed as a teacher at Boylan Catholic High School for 25 years teaching Spanish. She was a longtime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She and Tom enjoyed many years traveling around the country in their camper and spending their winters in the south.
Survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Tom; her children, J.T (Cassandra) Wente of Evensville, TN and Valerie (fiancé, Mike White) Wente of South Beloit; her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Autumn and Jackson Wente, and Thomas “Tommy” Wente and Marguerite “Maggie” White; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don (Twila), Jim (Linda) and Tim (Teresa) Wente; many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ER, 5th and 6th floors at Javon Bea Hospital for the care they provided mom in the past three months. We would like a special mention for Dr. Bullock, Dr. Tripp and nurse Chantel Ware for their dedication to making sure mom got the best care possible. The family would like to invite friends and family to a luncheon following the funeral service at 11:30 A.M. Monday at Sam’s Ristorante at 6075 E. Riverside Blvd.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 22, 2024, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Av. Rockford. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. and again from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. on Monday at the church. There will also be a visitation from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 1212 W. Evergreen Av. Effingham, IL immediately followed by burial at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Effingham. Memorials may be made to Boylan Catholic High School in Judy’s name.
