Michael Lawrence Nichols, age 63, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
The celebration of life was held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at OB’s Bar in Shobonier, Illinois. Memorials may go to the donor’s choice.
Michael was born on April 5, 1961 in Hillsboro, Illinois, the son of Lawrence E. and Marjorie A. (Miller) Nichols. He married Linda Kay Fisher on August 15, 1981 in St. Paul, Illinois. Michael owned and operated a heavy haul trucking business and enjoyed farming for most of his life. He was a kind soul, took pride in his work and never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time on vacations with friends, family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Nichols of St. Peter; daughter, Randi Nichols (Wes Gasser) of St. Peter; sisters, Mary Dooley (Keith) of Nokomis, Susan Hill (Steve) of Texas, and Patty Lash (Sam) of Vera; grandchildren, Madison Nichols, Maci Starnes, Landon Reynolds and Audrey Gasser; mother-in-law, Florence Fisher of St. Peter, and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marjorie Nichols; five siblings; father-in-law, Edward Fisher, and brother-in-law, Keith Dooley.
