Ashley Nicole Haarmann, 37, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ashley’s children, c/o Donna Smith. Ashley was born on July 3, 1986, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Mark Barnes and Donna Aldrich Smith. Ashley was outgoing and never met a stranger. She was the type of person that if you didn’t know her, she would make sure you did before you left. Ashley had a love of many things, watching sunsets, traveling, books, cooking, scary movies, the beach, “Packers and Cards”, plants and collecting rocks from everywhere she went. Her artistic talent always shined. But the love of her life and her biggest joy was her children; going on adventures, crafts and park hopping any time they could.

Ashley is survived by her children, Zoe, Zaiden, and Oliver, all of Effingham; mother, Donna Aldrich Smith of Effingham; grandparents, Larry and Nina Aldrich; grandmother, Barbara Barnes; niece, Addison Mae; nephew, Atticus; and uncles, Jeff Aldrich and Jerry Dittamore.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tucker; her brother, Nicholas Barnes; grandfather, Larry Barnes; and aunt, Dana Dittamore.
