Zachary R. Curtis, 31, of Terre Haute, Indiana, formerly of Mode, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Born on February 16, 1993, in Effingham, Illinois, Zachary was the cherished son of Duane and Amy (Black) Curtis. A 2011 graduate of Stewardson-Strasburg High School, he was also a proud member of the Shelbyville Rams football team, where he demonstrated his teamwork and determination both on and off the field. Zachary’s strong work ethic made him a leader of his peers, this quality led to his success at Steel Dynamics of Sinton, Texas, he then transferred to Steel Dynamics of Terre Haute, Indiana. On June 1, 2018, Zachary married the love of his life, Megan Newman, in Sinton, Texas. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Emberlee and Amberlynn, who brought immense joy and fulfillment to Zachary's life. His role as a father was one he cherished above all, and his love for his girls was evident to all who knew him. A man of many interests, Zachary had a passion for riding motorcycles, working on cars, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family.

Zachary is survived by his devoted parents, Duane and Amy Curtis, of Sinton, Texas; his loving wife, Megan, and his daughters, Emberlee and Amberlynn, all of Terre Haute, Indiana; his brother, Schuyler (Sierra) Curtis of Owensboro, Kentucky; his grandmother, Joyce Curtis; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two children, Dominic and Zoey, who were dearly loved and remain in the family's hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. A private family burial will take place.
