Betty June Feezel (99) of St. Elmo

Betty June Feezel, age 99, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at her home.

A memorial service for Betty will be held at a later date. Memorials may go to the Connection Church in St. Elmo, Illinois or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.

Betty was born on June 11, 1924 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of E. Lain and Effie J. (Steele) Dunaway. She married Charles Nelson Feezel on September 30, 1948 at St. Elmo Christian Church. Betty was a woman of great faith whose prayers were always for the salvation of family and friends. She cherished the memories of the many children she taught in Sunday School. She had the gift of hospitality. Her home was always filled with friends and family. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Mark Feezel (wife Mary) of Tucson, Arizona; daughter, Susan LeMond (husband Jim) of Evansville, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Beth Feezel of Bartlesville, OK; brother, Jim Dunaway (wife Jan) of Greenwood, Indiana; sister-in-law, Ann Dunaway of New Palestine, Indiana; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and many loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E. Lain and Effie Dunaway; husband, Charles Feezel; son, Anthony “Tony” Feezel; brothers, William and Charles Dunaway; sister, Kathleen Wren.
