Susie J. Andrews (85) of Newton

Susie J. Andrews age 85, of Newton passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Susie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at Scott Avenue Christian Church in Newton with Pastor Kevin Colclasure officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7th in the church. Burial will be in the Trexler Cemetery, rural Newton. Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Susie was born on December 19, 1938, in Jasper County, Illinois one of eight children born to the union of Bernard “B.E.” and Ruby (Kincaid) Marshall. On August 1, 1955, Susie married Donald E. Andrews. He preceded her in death in 2011. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Susie was a hard worker. She worked at E.R. Moore, the shoe factory and later United Technologies. Susie was a faithful member of Scott Avenue Christian Church. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and working in her yard. She loved country music and enjoyed attending the area dances.

Susie will be loved and remembered by her daughters-in-law Shelly Andrews of Newton and Vaneta (Anthony) Gilio of Newton; grandchildren, Logan (Mikkel) Andrews, Deanna Douthit and Bill Andrews; three great grandchildren; sister Rosie McGee of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband Don, sons Mike Andrews and Tim Andrews and siblings Don Marshall, Roy Marshall, Floyd Marshall, Kenny Marshall, Dean Marshall and Dema Millsap preceded her in death.
