Garry Bob Sallee, aged 83, passed away at 5:12pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Cumberland Nursing Home in Greenup Illinois.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.

Garry was born July 16, 1940, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Robert Franklin and Ruby Maxine (Mount) Sallee.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Eurnie) Garver of Paris, IL, Tina (John) Senn of Clearwater, FL, Maria Sallee of Paris, IL; sons Garry (Elizabeth) Sallee of Paris, IL, and Paul Carroll (Kathy) of Paris, IL. His grandchildren, Kurtis (Amanda) Martin, Brittany Martin, Alex (Danielle) Senn, Andrew (Christine) Senn, Austin Senn, Shawn Sallee, Christiana (Michael) Wallace, Dustin Sallee, Audrey (Jason) Harvey, Sarah Sallee, Mandi (Greg) Stuck) of Paris, IL, and Brandi (Shawn) Nugent of Paris, IL. He had 22 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way this year. Brother Ronald Sallee, Sisters, Laura ( Merle) Stewart, Connie (Floyd) Castillo, and Kathy (Earnest) Peters.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Brothers, William and Roy, Sister Carol Oakley, Son Frederick Carroll, Grandchildren Tiffany Daniels and Joshua Carroll, and Great Grandchild Aiden Sallee.

Garry was in the Army from 1958 to 1962. He served in Germany and very proud to be Veteran. After getting out of the Army he worked several different jobs until he started truck driving. He was very proud of his safe driving record and retired in 2003. Garry was a member of the Teamsters Local 135. He built his own home in Terre Haute, IN and lived there until 2021. After retirement he learned to play golf and it wasn’t surprising to see him out at dawn and golfing 36 holes a day. His pride and joy was his Monte Carlo that was exactly like Dale Earnhart’s race car.
