Carrie M. Miller, 84, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday February 12, 2024 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A celebration of life visitation will beheld at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024, which would have been her 85th birthday. Carrie was born on February 22, 1939, in St. Elmo, IL, the daughter of George and Cora (Haslett) Jenkins. She married Roger Miller on February 21, 2007. Carrie loved playing bingo and rooting for the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed tending to her rose bushes and playing with her Yorkies. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter. From the mid-70s to 2012, she was a beloved and valued team member at the 76 Truckstop and then later at the Effingham Cracker Barrel.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Kathy McDowell and Rick Miller (Becky DukemanMiller); step-children, Kelly Miller (Anya) and Terra Vail; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, and 2 great-great-grandsons on the way; and sister, Phyllis Whitehead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guy “Warren” Siple; daughter, Cyndi Miller; brothers, Bill Jenkins, Gene Jenkins, Frank Jenkins, Dick Jenkins, and George Jenkins; and sisters, Donna Claar and Nellie Arnold.
