Diane Lynn Swisher (77) of Toledo

On Monday, February 12,2024, our mother Diane Lynn Swisher passed away peacefully and free from pain after a long battle with Lewi Body Dementia at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Per our mom’s wishes, there will be a small, informal gathering at the Toledo Ceremony soon. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.

Diane was born to Joe and Lois Janes March 4, 1946, and grew up in Toledo Illinois. She graduated from Cumberland High School in 1964 and was a Phi Theta Kappa graduate from Clinton Community College in 1996. She worked at Archer Daniels Midland Company and retired after a successful career. Diane was an avid, lifelong reader who enjoyed many genres, especially mysteries and romance. She also loved cats and enjoyed caring for them in her retirement. Diane also enjoyed helping others and volunteered when she could.

Diane is survived by her daughters Sherrie Rardin, Stacia Swisher and spouse, and Susan Swisher; her grandchildren and five great grandchildren; her brother Michael Janes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David Janes and sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Richard Kruger.
