Lillian D. Griffith, 83, of Louisville, Illinois passed away peacefully at 11:23 am Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the Heritage Woods Assisted Living in Flora, Illinois.

Lillian was born on October 25, 1940 in the home of her parents, Wayne and Elizabeth Jewel (Richey) Atteberry in Cerro Gordo, Illinois. Lillian's early career was marked by her compassionate work in the Emergency Room at the Clay County Hospital in Flora, where she provided comfort and care to those in immediate need. Her nurturing nature was a beacon of hope for many during their most vulnerable moments. Lillian then transitioned to a role at World Color Press in Salem, Illinois, where she spent 15 years in the Bindery Room, showing her meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality work. After a fulfilling tenure at World Color Press, Lillian returned to her first passion—caring for others—as a home healthcare worker. She devoted herself to taking care of people in the comfort of their own homes, often becoming a part of their extended families. Her gentle demeanor and loving care left a lasting impact on all those she assisted. Beyond her professional life, Lillian was an exceptional baker, widely celebrated for her delectable wedding cakes. Her culinary skills shone brightest when preparing the family's Thanksgiving meal, an event that was incomplete without her signature pumpkin pies. Lillian's love for cooking was only matched by her love for her family, and these gatherings were a testament to the joy and unity she fostered. A woman of faith and joy, Lillian found solace and inspiration in the music of the Gaither’s, often filling her home with their harmonious melodies. Lillian had attended the First Baptist Church in Louisville when she was able. She also enjoyed watching a good show on television, a simple pleasure that provided relaxation and entertainment in her moments of rest. Lillian's most profound legacy, however, is the love she poured into her family. She was the heart of every family gathering, her presence a source of comfort and happiness. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Lillian is survived by her loving children: Tammy Griffith of Flora, Ritchey Griffith of Flora, Danny Griffith of Athens, Illinois, Janet (Darrell) Allen of Xenia; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, and nephews.
