Carolyn Louise McIntosh, age 78, of Newton, Illinois, and formerly of Swansea, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 AM – Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Newton, Illinois. The visitation will be 1 hour before the service. A private burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois. Carolyn was born on June 17, 1945, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Fuller) Nation. She married James L. McIntosh on November 21, 1961, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 2017.

Carolyn was a homemaker, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Edgemont Bible Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois, and attended First Baptist Church in Newton.

Carolyn helped with the Child Evangelism Fellowship and taught Sunday school for several years. She was always thinking of others and enjoyed blessing someone with a care package or a card.

Carolyn is survived by: Children – Judith (Darren) Haberland of Emden, Illinois; Daniel (Julee) McIntosh of Beattyville, Kentucky; and Victoria (David) Stankus of Newton, Illinois; Grandchildren – Ryan Reagen, Amanda (Josh) Jones, Mark Haberland, James (Ceyley) McIntosh, Carolyn (Jeremy) Holt, Rebekkah McIntosh, Jonathan McIntosh, Joseph McIntosh, Elizabeth Stankus, and Jonathan Stankus; Great Grandchildren – Darian Jones, James Daniel McIntosh, III, Bazile McIntosh, Esther McIntosh, Mehemiah McIntosh, and Lillyanna McIntosh; 1 Great-great Grandchildren to be born soon; Siblings – Gloria Bennett of Sherman, Illinois; Barbara (Richard) Fernandes of Jacksonville, Illinois; Linda (Dallas) Comfort of Pueblo West, Colorado; and Edward Nation of Renton, Washington.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
