Leslie H. ‘Les’ Smith, 86, of Altamont, died at 11:53 a.m. Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Mason Christian Church with lunch and fellowship to follow. Memorials may be made to the donors’ choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Leslie H. Smith was born on Wednesday, May 26, 1937 in Altamont, IL to Leslie B. ‘Tom’ and Thelma M. (Higgs) Smith. He married Judy K. List on November 29, 1957. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2022. He was a member of the Mason Christian Church. He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by; his daughter DeeDee (Brian) Tucker of Altamont; 5 grandchildren, Travis (Ashli) Voelker, Kelly Voelker, Cody (Marie) Voelker, Jordan Smith, and Haley Harris; 6 great grandchildren, Briana Hassebrock, Wade, Sadie, Charlotte, Ada, and Elmer Voelker; sisters, Gail Lefler of Loxahatchee, FL and Brenda Hofmann of Altamont.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, wife, son, Robert J. Smith; brothers, Gerald, Dale and Ray Allen Smith; sisters, Sue Cochran and Roberta Woodmansee.
