Donald L. Adams, 81, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at his home.
Don was born August 14, 1942 in Olney, the son of Eldo W. and Lela M. (Storer) Adams. Don was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Parkersburg United Methodist Church. He took pleasure in attending farm auctions and working at the County Fair. He also liked to dance at the senior dances. When he was younger, he traveled the entire country as a truck driver and showing cattle. Don enjoyed helping his neighbors and was a friend to all. He especially enjoyed watching football and talking about the game with his brother, Herb, and spending time with his niece and nephews.
Don is survived by his brother, Herbert Adams and wife Judy of Gibsonburg, OH; brother, Roy Adams and wife Jean of Sarasota, FL; nephew, Jason (Rebecca) Adams; niece, Laura (Andy) Lindsay; great nephews, Justin Adams, Adam Lindsay, Oscar Lindsay, and Isaac Lindsay; and special friend, Janice Flach of Montrose, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held for friends and family on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. A funeral service will be held for Don at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney, with Full Military Rites will be performed at the graveside. Memorials can be made to Parkersburg United Methodist Church.
