Sanford B. "Andy" Andrews (84) of Yale

Sanford B. “Andy” Andrews, 84, of Yale, IL. passed away at 5:45 am Friday, January 26, 2024, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday February 3, 2024, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will also be on Saturday February 3, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Yale Cemetery with Military Rites by the Jasper County Veterans.

Andy was born on January 12, 1940, in Newton, IL to Foster and Garnett (Dart) Andrews. He married Jacqueline ”Jackie” Estes on August 6, 1977. Survivors include: his loving wife Jackie; sons Paul (Cherie) Andrews, and Jerry (Jennifer) Andrews; brother Larry (Pat) Andrews and sisters Linda Newkirk, and Dianna (Ernie) Duran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kirtus Wayne Andrews, and two brothers Richard and Donnie Andrews.

Andy served on the Village of Yale board and as the Village president for 45 years. He was co-owner of Yale Spray Service and co-owner of Yale Water. Andy also worked for Leohr Oil driving the fuel truck for farm delivery before retiring in June 2002. Andy loved playing golf, and bowling. He bowled for many years and was able to travel to several bowling tournaments. Andy served in the Army Reserves from 1961 – 1967. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and the Newton American Legion for 50 years. Memorials can be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church.
