William Edward “Bill” LeCrone, Jr. 78, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Jared LeCrone officiating and Masonic Rites by the Altamont Masonic Lodge #533. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL, with Military Rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Shriners Children Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Bill was born on October 28, 1945 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of William “Bill” Edward Sr., and Lois June (Ruff) LeCrone. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1963, and attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. Bill then went on to serve his country in the United States Army, and was a bugler in the Army Band. Bill worked at Crossroads Press in Effingham, IL for over 30 years, where he operated a printing press. He was a member of Altamont Masonic Lodge #533, Scottish Rite and Ainad Shrine. Bill was a history buff and an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues.

Bill is survived by his two sons, Darin LeCrone and wife Angie of Rochester, IL, and Jeremy LeCrone of Pflugerville, TX; and two grandchildren, Jake LeCrone and Abby LeCrone both of Rochester, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Brent LeCrone; and sisters, Judith Ann Maxwell and Mary Christine Hoskins.
