Ruby Joan Dunn (86) of Olney, formerly of Noble

Ruby Joan Dunn, 86, of Olney, formerly of Noble, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family.
Joan was born on August 6, 1937 in Altamont, Illinois, the daughter of Paul Prescott and Ruby Ann (Duckwitz) Davis. She married Gerald L. "Jerry" Dunn on January 30, 1960 in Altamont, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2016. Joan was a member of the First Christian Church of Noble for over 50 years. She was a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. Joan was also a Tupperware manager for many years. Joan was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved them fiercely. Her favorite pastime was watching her family participate in all of their extracurricular activities. Joan never met a stranger and never forgot a friend. She had a kind heart, loved cooking, and no one ever left her table hungry.
Joan is survived by her son, Jerry Dunn and wife Nanette of Sumner, IL; son, Larry Dunn and wife Heather of Olney; son, Martin Dunn and wife Melissa of Olney; daughter, Margaret Hahn and husband Mike of Olney; son, Brian Dunn and wife Laura of Neoga, IL; bonus daughter, Anastasia Fears of Troy, IL; brother-in-law, Buddy Osteen of Altamont, IL; 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Margie Osteen; grandson, Alexander Sutton Dunn; and great granddaughter, Ruby Joy Fishbaugh.
A visitation will be held for family and friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the First Christian Church of Noble. A funeral service will be held for Joan at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the First Christian Church of Noble, with a visitation from 9:00-10:00 AM on Friday morning prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow the service Hanna Cemetery in rural Noble. Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church of Noble or Richland County H.O.P.E. Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with arrangements.
