Rondle Allan Cowger (92) of Ingraham

Rondle Allan Cowger, 92, of Ingraham, Illinois passed away at 6:21 am Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, Illinois.
Rondle was born on September 25, 1931 in Rural Jasper County, Illinois the son of Laurence H. and Olga (Beckwith) Cowger. Rondle served his Country honorably in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. Rondle married Mabel Kepley on February 12, 1955 and they shared nearly 69 years of marriage. He drove a school bus for the Ingraham Grade School. He also helped build, and later managed the Kennedy Grain Elevator in Ingraham, where he retired from in March of 1981. Rondle then drove a truck for Cox Brothers Trucking of Newton for 20 years. While working his full-time jobs he also was a farmer and raised livestock.
Rondle is survived by his wife: Mabel Cowger; a son: Gordon (Vickey) Cowger of Teutopolis; daughter: Laural (Brett) Ackerman of Newton; daughter-in-law: Glenda Cowger of Wheeler; grandchildren: Darlene Coffin, Jacque Holsapple, Jacob Cowger, Brittany Ackerman, Reid Ackerman, and Tia Cowger; great grandchildren: Jonathan Coffin, Sarah Coffin, Rachel Coffin, Grant Ackerman, Meredith Ackerman, and Blake Ackerman. He is also survived by a brother: James Cowger of Nashville, Tennessee.
Rondle was preceded in death by his parents; son: Stephen Cowger; sister: Dorothy Elmore; great grandson: Mitchell Coffin.
Memorial graveside services to celebrate Rondle’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Ingraham Cemetery, with Keith Kepley officiating. Military funeral honors will also be conducted at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rondle’s memory to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, Springfield, Illinois or to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.
