Bradley Fred Dye (81) of Fairfield

Bradley Fred Dye, 81, of Fairfield, Illinois passed away at 6:44 am Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Brad was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 25, 1942, the son of Wilbur F. and Inez Eileen (Hanks) Dye. Brad served his Country honorably in the US Navy. Brad was called into the ministry as a Baptist minister for many years with serving as a Missionary in Paraguay. He then went to work in the electronics business as a paging consultant for Motorola and then as an independent contractor. Another of Brad’s calling was in AA having been involved with AA since 1992 and he had helped many men and was their sponsor over the years. He loved electronics, having a big home theater in his home and being a HAM radio operator. Brad loved to show off his home electronics and had his own coffee bar where he roasted and ground his own beans and would have friends come and enjoy his coffee bar. When he was able, he would love to garden and was a talented woodworker. Brad was a member of MENSA International, and the National Rifle Association.
Brad is survived by his children: Allison Kornberger of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Amy Thornton of Virginia, Eva Faulkner of Portsmouth, Virginia; 9 grandchildren: Greg Aloia, Corey Aloia, Kara Faulkner, Rebecca Kornberger, Caleb Kornberger, Joshua Kornberger, Evan Faulkner, Daniel Kornberger, Abbey Bailey; 6 great grandchildren. Brad is also survived by a sister: Pamela Goldfaden of Miami Beach, Florida.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Gregory D. Dye; grandson: Luke Lockner; great grandson: Carter Faulkner.
Funeral services to celebrate Brad’s life will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy with Gene Birch officiating. A burial will follow at the Phillips Cemetery, Kinmundy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home where friends may call from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family to assist with expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.
