Robert J. Finn age 83, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home in rural Newton, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Chapel Cemetery, Falmouth, Illinois with Bro. Larry Matson officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Jasper Post No. 20 of the American Legion. Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Robert was born on December 19, 1940, in Clay City, Illinois the son of Joseph and Mildred (Wilson) Finn. Robert faithfully served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS America. In 1970, Robert married Linda Maples. She survives. Robert was a retired truck driver. In addition to trucking, he served as the Jasper County Sheriff in the late 1970’s and spent several years racing horses.
Robert will be loved and remembered by his wife Linda Finn of Newton; sons Brock Finn of Newton and Brent Finn, wife Tonya of Wheeler; grandsons Wyatt and Braydon; brother Jim Finn of Newton and sister Joanne Finn of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Finn.
