Diana Kay Greuel-Russell, age 78, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away early Saturday morning, December 30, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

She was born February 25, 1945, in Shumway, the daughter of Robert A. and Agnes (Bussman) Feldhake. Diana served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1966, stationed in Germany. She was a registered nurse and had worked at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital and several area nursing homes, including Lakeland Rehabilitation in Effingham. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Flora and enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and her dogs and cats.

She is survived by her children: Daniel Greuel (Amy) of Strasburg, Jeanne Greuel (Roger) of Browns, Matthew Greuel (Jennifer) of Windsor, Amy Nevills (George) of Shakopee,Minnesota, Jennifer Myers (John) of Holiday, Florida, and Jill Turner (Rodney) of Owensville, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings: Steve R. Feldhake of Watson, Marilyn E. Feldhake (Wayne) of Xenia, Rosalie Weidner (Paul) of Clay City, Max Feldhake of Louisville, Roy Feldhake (Vicki) of Louisville, Linda Feldhake of Chrisman, Jayne Feldhake of Louisville, Kathy Price (Jerry) of Rinard, and Pat Greenwood (Tom) of Xenia; and a sister-in-law: Betty Feldhake of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Robert J. Feldhake; and a sister-in-law: Susan Feldhake.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on March 16, 2024, at St. Stephen Catholic Church with interment following in St. Stephen Cemetery. A rosary service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter (CCARS), and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
