Betty Jo Crum (87) of Effingham

Betty Jo Crum, 87, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Private family entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Beecher City Meals on Wheels. Betty was born on April 24, 1936, in Hope, New Mexico, the daughter of Efton and Eula Logan. She married William Stanley Crum on April 13, 1974 in St. Elmo, IL, and they were a perfect match. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2016. Betty loved her husband Stanley and dancing with him. She was also a wonderful caregiver to him in his time of need. Betty always enjoyed helping others and being with friends. To say Betty was avid St. Louis Cardinals fan is an understatement. She enjoyed cooking and her flower garden Family was always important to Betty.

Betty is survived by her son, Jeffrey Conner; step-daughters, Anita (Don) Doyle of Texas and Mary Crum of St. Elmo; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; son, Daniel Conner; step-son, Danny Crum, her siblings; and grandson, Darrell Forbes.
