James J. McKinney, 94, of rural Toledo, IL passed away at 5:05 am on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at the Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 28, 2013 at the Woodbury United Methodist Church rural Montrose, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday evening at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL.  Burial with Full Military Rites conducted by Cumberland County Veterans will be in the Mullen Cemetery rural Montrose, IL.

James was born on December 8, 1918 in rural Toledo, IL the son of James & Ethel (Tolch) McKinney. James served his country in the US Army during World War II.

Surviving are four nephews William McKinney of Highland, IL; Whitney (Janet) McKinney of Neoga, Wesley (Brenda) McKinney of Sedalia, Colorado, and John (Ellen) McKinney of Champaign, and several great nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Warren and Robert McKinney. James was a lifelong farmer and cattle feeder. He was a member of the Woodbury United Methodist Church.
