Everett Dean Finney (89) of Greenup

Everett Dean Finney, 89, of Greenup, IL. passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 6:25 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday December 15, 2023, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 at the funeral chapel. The burial with Military Rites will be in the Greenup Cemetery.

Everett was born in Casey, IL on February 7, 1934, the son of Samuel Leroy & Stella Mae (Ratts) Finney. He married Marjorie Devall on June 3, 1961, and she preceded him in 2004. Survivors include daughter Teresa (Duff) Sowers; sons John (Nancy) Meadows and Leslie Finney; grandchildren Nikki Hetzel, Cynthia Finney, Jason Snader, Jeremy Snader and Bryan Hicks; great grandsons Dylan Talley and Jude Hetzel.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Leon, Robert, Victor, Charles, Vera, Kathleen, and Florence.

Everett worked as an equipment operator for Charleston Stone Company for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycles in his spare time. He attended the First Southern Baptist Church in Greenup, IL. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
