Marijane Wolfe Hardin, 87, of Bible Grove woke up in the arms of Jesus on Friday, December 1, 2023 after peacefully sleeping at home.
Marijane was born in Clay County on August 8, 1936 sharing the same birthdate with her mother. She was the firstborn child of Woodrow and Marjorie (McCavitt) Wolfe. She attended North Clay High School and graduated from beauty school in Centralia, Illinois on April 8, 1956. She married Aaron Hardin at the Louisville United Methodist Church and they have shared 67 years of marriage. Early in their married life, Marijane worked as a beautician and enjoyed sharing her love of baton twirling by giving lessons at her home. Later, she worked in the family farm while raising their children and caring for the household, and garden. As she neared retirement, she took on a new adventure working for her nephew at ServPro for 17 years. She was a faithful member of the Louisville United Methodist Church enjoying many of the activities and missions as well as caring for the janitorial duties for several years. Marijane enjoyed her daily Bible study and devotions and found enjoyment in reading “the mail” each day along with her Amish stories. She liked to try new recipes, sew, craft, and watch her hummingbirds. Grandma Jane was a passionate spectator at her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting activities. She also loved her daily phone conversations with her dear friends and family. Her family was everything to her, and she always looked forward to the next celebration or dinner.
Marijane is survived by her husband: Aaron; children: Louanne (Tony) Groves, and Phillip Hardin, all of Louisville; grandchildren: Staci (Ryan) Groves, and Nicole (Ted) Gardewine; great grandchildren: Sylys, Sylvyah, and Gunnar Groves, Olivia, Blake, Nick, and Tim Gardewine, and Zane Groves. She is also survived by a sister: Virginia (Gerald) Dennis; brother: Ed (Terri) Wolfe; sister-in-law: Connie (Wayne) Hagen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Marijane was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law; brothers-in-law: Don Ruckman, William (Shirley) Hardin, Floyd Hardin; sister-in-law: Greta (Jack) McGee.
