Marcella T Behrman (94) of Effingham

Marcella T. Behrman, 94, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Marcella was born on February 22, 1929 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Aloysius and Rose (Kinkelaar) Gebben. She married Robert L. Behrman on October 25, 1952. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2020. Marcella was a lifelong member at St. Anthony Church and the St. Anthony Altar Sodality. She worked at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital as a nurse aide and then later worked for Fedders. She also enjoyed embroidering.

Marcella is survived by her sons, Robert J. Behrman of Effingham and Ronald L. (Kathleen Gillund) Behrman of Oak Forest, IL; sisters, Sylvia Hartke and Viola Green; brother, Andrew (Patricia) Gebben; sisters-in-law, Sue Gebben and Eleanor Gebben; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Behrman; brothers, Anthony Gebben, Quirinus Gebben, Steve Gebben, Ray (Lila) Gebben, Eugene Gebben, Charles Gebben, and Richard (Jan) Gebben; brothers-in-law, Roy Hartke and Richard Green; and sister-in-law, Judy Nosbisch.
