Wanda Leohr (77) of Casey

Wanda Leohr, age 77, of Casey, passed away Tuesday November 28, 2023, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday December 9, 2023, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 am on Saturday December 9, 2023, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery at a later date. A meal “Wanda fest” will be held at the VFW in Greenup, after the service from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Wanda was born June 25, 1946, in rural Greenup, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Kemper) Lewis. She married Jack Leohr on April 16, 1966, he preceded her in 2003.

Survivors include her daughter and best friend, Becky (Jon) Robeson; grandchildren Ryan (Kat) Sidwell, and Jack and Ella Robeson; a great grandbaby on the way in March; sisters Glenda (Ray) Bower, and Gloria (Brent) Roan; brother Eric (Derek) Lewis; sisters-in-law Judy Lewis and Diana Lewis and adopted sister Bonnie Brandenburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Leohr, and brothers Larry, Albert, and Keith Allen.

Wanda worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services in both Coles and Clark Counties for 30 plus years. She enjoyed making memories and sharing good times. She loved her home and working out in the yard. Wanda was a member of the Greenup VFW Auxiliary and the Cumberland County Sportsman’s Club.

Wanda always told Ryan “Do better”, even when he did his best. Guess she leaves us with that message. Do Better.
