Doris J. Niemeyer (94) of Teutopolis

Doris (Thoele) Niemeyer, 94, of Teutopolis left this earth peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 25, 2023.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Doris was born January 10, 1929 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Weber) Thoele. She married the love of her life, Melvin Louis “Pat” Niemeyer on February 26, 1949 and they shared 64 years together before Pat joined the angels on November 9, 2013.
Doris is survived by her children, Brian (Juel) Niemeyer, Stephen (Paula) Niemeyer, Kathy (Ron) Fusco, William Niemeyer, Jeanne (Jim) Ordner, Debra (Brian) Julius, Nick (Janice) Niemeyer and Lisa (JB) Sowers; daughter-in-law, Laurel Niemeyer; grandchildren: Laura Bannick, Julie Schuppert, Stacey Ruholl, Jackie Weaving, Josh Niemeyer, Amanda Decker, Chris Decker, James Decker and Nathan Craig (deceased), Vanese Clough, Jamie Sheard, Jessie Batten, Todd Fusco, Robin Majors, Trisha Downey, Billie Paige Niemeyer, Cher Niemeyer, Dustin Ordner, Shannon Huber, Jaime Bloemer, Jacob Ordner, Michelle Hartke, Keith Hoene, Mindy Pinkerton, Brandon McKerrow, Jordan McKerrow, Jason Niemeyer, Maria Niemeyer (deceased), Amber Niemeyer, Huley Niemeyer, Liz Niemeyer, Trenton Niemeyer (deceased), Stephanie Niemeyer, Valerie Craig, Taylor Sowers, Brian Sowers (deceased), Casey Repking, Dalton Sowers, Tanner Sowers; sixty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons, Nicholas Frances and Michael Niemeyer.
