Margaret (Mueller) Miller (87) of Altamont

Margaret Ruth Miller 87 years old, of Altamont passed away peacefully Wednesday Morning November 8, 2023, at 6:05 AM at the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont, Illinois.

Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday November 13, 2023 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont, Illinois with Funeral Services following the visitation with the Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Christian Burial Rites will be conducted at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery following the funeral service.

Margaret was born into the Christian family one of five siblings of Bruno and Hulda Mueller-Holste on February 26, 1936, at the family home in Summit Township, Blue Point Community, Effingham County near Altamont, Illinois. Margaret was baptized March 15, 1936, confirmed her faith April 2, 1950, and married Norman Miller on May 15, 1955, all at St. Paul “Blue Point” Lutheran Church by Rev. H.T. Schmidt. Margaret was employed by the Altamont Garment Factory after graduating from Altamont Community High School with the class of 1954. She was also employed by Stuckey’s Best Western Motel in Altamont as well as a part-time cook for ALIS Lutheran School. During the 1960’s with her husband Norm began Advertising Specialties, later known as Promark Advertising. Margaret had been a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum, Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aid, and the Effingham County Republican Women’s Club. Her favorite hobbies included cooking, sewing and collecting antiques. She was a long time St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan, never missing a game on television, even through the 2023 season. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Sanctuary Renovation fund, the Lutheran Care Center or the donor’s choice.

Margaret is survived by her: Sons: Steven Dean Miller Altamont, Illinois, David Kent (wife Nita) Miller Altamont, Illinois, Their 3-children: Joshua and Joel Miller; Jessica (husband, Tyler) Rueter and their children: Blake, Wade and Lauren Rueter; Kevin Brent (wife, Colleen) Miller Longview, Texas Their 2- children: Preston Miller and Lauryn (husband, Luke) Reagan; Daughter: Diane Sue (husband, Scott) Fish Polk City, Florida; Their-2 children: Alison Fish and Amy (husband, Zach) Randolph; Brothers: Lawrence Holste Altamont, Illinois and Roger Holste Champaign, Illinois; Sisters: Virgina Walborn San Diego, California and Roberta Jenkins Effingham, Illinois; Sister-in-law: Edith Miller Altamont, Illinois.
