Kenith A. Figgins was born on November 7, 1962 in Mattoon Il to Donald and Sada (Looten) Figgins, entered into Heaven on November 7, 2023.

Ken was a hard worker and grew up on a farm south of Trilla with his siblings, Donna (Joe) Beals, Sue (Bill) Janes, Steve Figgins and his twin Kevin (Marsha) Figgins. He married his high school sweetheart, Shelia (Zimmer) Figgins on September 12, 1981. They have two daughters; Krystal and Kasey.

Ken and Shelia built their dream home outside Neoga. Ken always had a perfect driveway and a well maintained yard. Along with his wife, Shelia of Neoga, he leaves his daughters Krystal (Matt) Cummings of Sullivan and Kasey (Jordan) Wickiser of Neoga. He was so proud of his 5 grandchildren, Luke, Lydia, Lylah and Lane Cummings and Kenzlee Wickiser. He is also survived by his siblings, in-laws Ed and Glenda Zimmer of Mattoon, Sharon Byford of Mattoon, Jim Zimmer and Dianna of Mattoon, Teri (Shannon) Cutler of Moweaqua; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to those above he had many people who thought he was quite the character. Ken worked many years at Neal Tire. If someone needed an after hour call it would be Ken who responded. Many farmers relied on Ken to get the job done so their farm equipment could get back to work. Personal phone calls to Ken had him changing tires or fighting fires anytime any day. After leaving Neal Tire he joined Lafayette Township to help maintain roads. Ken attended the Grace United Methodist Church in Neoga and he devoted many years and hours to the Neoga Fire Department were he served as a Captain. He loved being a weather watcher and driving the tanker. He would even occasionally drive the ambulance if they needed both medics in the back. He currently holds the record for the quickest trip to Champaign from Neoga in an ambulance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Sada, and his brother in law Chris Byford.
