Ruth A. Ordner, 75, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Arcola Township Cemetery in Arcola, IL. Ruth was born on August 11, 1948, in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of James W. and Mary A. (Sampson) Cummings. She married Maurice Ordner on March 11, 2000. Together, they shared over 23 years of marriage. Ruth retired as a supervisor at Nova Solutions in Effingham. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, and making blankets for family. She liked to make her own glass bead jewelry. She loved to read and spend time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Maurice Ordner of Effingham; son, Jeremy (Asha) Stevens of Charleston; daughter, Michelle (Paul) Bright of Arcola; step-daughters, Jeneé (Tim) Mason of Effingham and Shannon (Kurt) Roberts of Altamont; step-sons, Shane Ordner of Mattoon and Thomas Hopper of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Bright, Jacob Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Tomeka Price, Mackenzie (Dustin) Buening, Ada Roberts, Aubrey Roberts, Jaiden Ordner, and Kaylee Hopper; greatgrandchildren, Izabella, Coraline, and Branden; and siblings, Lloyd (Mary) Cummings of Georgia, Betty Lash of Mattoon, Wilma (Steve) Durbin of Sullivan, and David (Mariko) Cummings of Cincinnati, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
