Marilyn A. Lane, 81, of Effingham, IL, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, concluding with a rosary at 12:00 noon on Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Marilyn was born on October 27, 1942, in Effingham, IL. She was the 11th child of 12 born to Anthony (Tony) and Clara (Kollmeyer) Bushur. Marilyn graduated from St. Anthony High School, Class of 1960. Marilyn’s first job was as a telephone operator with Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company. She had 45 years in banking, many years with the 1st National Bank later becoming 5/3 Bank. She enjoyed working with the customers. Marilyn enjoyed many years of golf starting at Park Hills Golf Course and later Effingham Country Club and the Cardinals Ladies League. Marilyn volunteered at the Effingham Library in the Genealogy Department, The Red Cross Disaster and Relief, and St. Anthony Church. She spent many years on the Bushur and Kollmeyer genealogy. She liked to travel and enjoyed her many trips with her sisters Millie and Diana. Marilyn loved getting together with family. The Bushur family reunions were her favorite times. She was also mother to her furry babies Odie, Bobo, and Teddy.

Marilyn is survived by her brothers, Carl Bushur and Robert Bushur; sister, Diana Pullen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul (Betty) Bushur, Arthur (Madonna) Bushur, James (Bernice) Bushur, Earl Bushur, and Jerry (Mickey) Bushur; sisters, Dorothy (Clifford) Bushue, Loretta (Ray) Hoelscher, and Millie Baker; brother-in-law, Joe Pullen; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bushur and Dorothy Bushur; nieces, Lynn K. Owen and Kendra Butts; and nephews, Dirk Baker and Eric Bushur.
