Stephen Wissink (80) of Oviedo, FL, formerly of Mahomet

Stephen Wissink, 80, of Oviedo, FL, formerly of Mahomet, died on Sunday, September 17, 2023 in Altamonte Springs, FL.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. A private graveside service will follow in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Stephen Paul Wissink was born on Saturday, November 28, 1942 in Iowa City, Iowa to Joseph and Bertha (Grothe) Wissink. He married Lucille Sloan on December 16, 1989 and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2017. Stephen worked at Ludlow Co-op for many years as an accountant. He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynnette Wissink, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; stepdaughter, Shannon Taylor, Pasadena, CA; step-sons; Don Steffen, Jr., Niantic, Dan Steffen, Decatur and Michael (Amber) Steffen, Hickman, NE; brother, Geno (Mary Kay) Wissink, Riverside, Iowa; sister-in-law, Ruth Wissink, Iowa City; brother-in-law, David Windisch, Solon, Iowa; and nine grandchildren, Christopher, Chrisjian, Connor, Hailey, Emily, Shaun, Alina, Lilianne and Alexander.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jere Wissink and sister, Suzanne Windisch.
