Funeral services celebrating Malissa’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home. Online condolences may be left by clicking here.
Malissa was born January 15, 1969 in Anchorage, Alaska the daughter of Charles Lee and Denna Faye (Bloomer) Staley. Malissa married Kenneth James McCaslin. He survives.
Malissa was a case worker for C.E.F.S. in Effingham, where she assisted clients with the low-income home energy program. Malissa was a member of the Potter’s House Ministries. In her free time, she loved to spend time with her family and loved being a Nana to her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and thefamily pets. She also enjoyed flower gardening and was known to have a green thumb.
She will be loved and remembered by her husband Kenneth McCaslin of Newton; children Joshua A. McCaslin, girlfriend Lana Ordner of Wheeler and Adria L. Collins, husband Jordan of Newton; grandchildren Aria, Callie and Dylan Collins of Newton and Brooklyn McCaslin of Newton; brother Charles Staley, wife Linda of Alaska; sisters Loretta Jones, husband Mike of Newton and Susan Andrews, husband Scott of Missouri; many nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
