David Bruce Schackmann (62) of Toledo

David Bruce Schackmann age 62 of Toledo, Illinois passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded to Mr. Schackmann with private family interment at a later date.
David was born on February 5, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of James and Virginia (Hamilton) Schackmann. David served his country for eight years in the United States Marine Corp. Following his time in service, he managed high rises in Hawaii. He later return to the main land where he worked in construction and landscaping. David liked working with his hands and staying busy. He loved being outdoors and fishing.
David will be loved and remembered by his children Dillon Schackmann of Honolulu, Hawaii and daughter Amanda Alexander of Hawaii; father James Schackmann of Toledo; brother Kevin Schackmann, wife Tammy of Ramsey, IL ; sisters Cynthia Stivers, husband Richard of Mattoon and Susan Reichling, husband Curt of Springfield; nieces and nephews Deveraux, Constance, Cade, Isabel and Ethan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia on October 6, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral arrangements. Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with arrangements.
