Larry Scott “Sparky” Redman, 67, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, no service will be held. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Food Pantry at the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Larry was born on February 15, 1956 in Pana, IL, the son of James “Junior” and Doris Beck Redman. He graduated from Cowden-Herrick High School in the Class of 1974. Larry was an electrician at Crane Packing Company in Vandalia, IL and also at International Paper in Shelbyville, IL, until his retirement. Larry enjoyed deer hunting, 4-wheeling, and camping and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He married Vickie Sue Sphar on July 3, 1987. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2017.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Connie Brewer Jones of Shelbyville, IL; step-son, Michael (Christie) Cox of Raymond, IL; brother, Roger (Melinda) Redman of Maroa, IL; sisters, Pamela (Bonnie) Hall of Ramsey, IL, Lila (Mitch) Bordelon of Bordelonville, LA and Rebecca Redman of Vandalia, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Doris Redman; and wife, Vickie Redman.
